Summatime...

This post is going to be a mish-mosh of pictures from the last month. Just trying to catch up...whoopsie!

Izzy's last week of school offered each day a different theme...this was crazy hair day. Daddy put 5 piggies in her hair!
Since summer is officially here that means leave-work-early-on-Fridays for Happy Hour!!! Triton Brewery is right by our office and you're bound to find us there playing cornhole on any given Friday afternoon :)
The middle-of-the-night waker is at it again. Here is Buggy sleeping at the top of the stairs waiting for us to come up to bed. The saga never ends.
My dear friend Kristi moved away to LA a few weeks ago...she's going to be missed :(
The girls got a summertime package from Bobo & Grandma that included the following adorableness:
Steve and Amanda came in town for Memorial weekend. Shenanigans ensued within minutes of their arrival. Boys will be boys!
Indianapolis in the month of May mean the track is OPEN! The 500 this year was just as epic as all the years past. Perfect weather. Perfect company. And Superman.
Sandi, Katie and Amanda
Goodness I love her.

I ventured into the infield again this year, but this time alone. I was a bit nervous about finding my friends but after dodging cornhole tournaments, beer bongers and shirtless old men I finally found my girls.
And we did what we do when we get together.
Stunt like we're 16 again. Duh.
Izzy switched gyms this summer to a much closer gym to our house. She's now going twice a week and is on Pre-Team, readying herself for competing next year!!! She's truly getting stronger each day and I just love to watch her excitement as she learns new tricks.
Caroline is not only her friend but also a neighbor of ours...so they now carpool together for Team practices.
And swim for hours together on the weekends
Little Fish
Snorkeling fool. She swims effortlessly with her mask and snorkel on. No arms, all legs. Round and round the pool.
I planned our neighborhood's first bike bar crawl (I didn't invite the entire neighborhood...just our friends). We all met at our house and hopped onto the Monon Trail for our 3 mile trek to downtown Carmel. There were 30 of us on our bikes and we got the strangest looks from others on the trail and passing through town. But I was ear-to-ear grinning the entire time. Here were a ton of our friends all on bikes headed out for a fun evening. On a perfect night. Don't worry, the next one is already planned for July :)

We started our journey at Union Brewery (which was not at all ready for our large group...one bartender was not sufficient). But there was live music. After one beer and one group pic we headed back north up the trail.

Several friends had rigged music onto their bikes, complete with speakers. And cup holders.
Parking our bikes at Scotty's
Delta Zeta sister who is now a neighbor. Love.
We ended the evening at the new Pint Room. Originally we were supposed to go to Old Town Tavern for our last stop but it was getting late and we knew we needed to leave in order to get home (semi) safely. Key takeaway from the evening was it was crucial to have a light on our bikes (I rigged my Ragna.r headlamp onto my bike which was key). The trail is closed at dusk and therefore not lit. At all. There were only two casualties on the way home. I may or may not have been one of them. Can't wait for the next one!
We try to spend as much time at the pool as possible. Which means we have dinner at the pool frequently throughout the week. One night last week Izzy asked us if we wanted to see her dive. Mike and I looked at each other confused, "Did you teach her to dive?"..."No, did you?!" Off she went...diving and flipping and cannon-balling. It was unreal. This little nugget taught herself. She's really coming into her own this summer and I love witnessing every moment.
Our neighbors are some of our best friends and I hope our kids grow up together for years to come. Here's Mack with the ladies.
And I'd be remiss if I left out another big piece of my life, Cross Fit. Had another competition this month as a team of four. There were 30 teams and we placed right in the middle of the pack, exactly like what we had expected. Getting sweaty with these three is my idea of a fun Friday night!
This competition is close to where a childhood friend of mine lives and she always makes sure to come visit to cheer me on. Love Karie. (Speaking of Karie, she tried Cross Fit for the first time this week and is doing great!)
This was a 2 day competition and by the fourth and final wod I was pooped. I had been semi out of commission with a minor hand injury for 6 weeks prior so I was not on top of my game. It showed. I just wanted to be done.
And we celebrated our finish with an ice cold beer. On to the next...
I was able to do the hero wod Murph for the first time this year (1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats and another 1 mile run). It was the day after the 500 so I was a touch hungover. But I prevailed and made the hour time cap just barely unscathed. I couldn't walk right for a week. It was brutal.
For Father's Day I got Mike tickets to see the Old 97's (as well as a lava lamp from the girls). We had dinner and then danced the night away with our friends. So much fun!

And finally, this is a tad overdue, both girls had graduations in May. Laney graduated from Pre-K...

While Izzy graduated from Kindergarten. There were 6 classes of kindergartners in her school this year (overpopulated due to all the new construction in Westfield...they've since re-districted so this won't happen again) so the graduation was at the high school. The group of almost 200 five and six year olds was just too cute. Their performance was almost an hour of song, dance, pomp and circumstance.
Izzy was in the front row and all the way on the end. She was entertaining as always!
This girl is not afraid of a crowd, that's for sure.

To celebrate her graduation I treated Izzy to her first pedicure. She was semi-obsessed with the massaging chair, which cracked me up. Here's to a fun rest of the summer...I'll keep you updated!
