It's hard to believe that our little Izzy Lou is 6. It's been a big year for her; starting kindergarten, losing her first tooth, learning how to swim. And another first: Izzy asked for a sleepover for her birthday party. Mmkay. Kindergartners. Overnight. We finally obliged but told her she could only invite 6 friends (since she's turning 6) and one of them had to be Laney.
Everyone arrived last night in their pj's excited for their first sleepover. Mike was incredible throughout; cooking and cleaning and prepping. He was his normal calm, collected self while I was my typical anxiety-ridden stress ball all day. The girls ate pizza and cupcakes, had a dance party, made a craft and watched a movie. Some made it through the night. Others fell asleep quickly. And a few were up giggling well past 11pm. We're tired today, to say the least. Izzy had a blast and that's all that matters. The first sleepover was a success!
Freezer paper stenciling turned out great...will definitely use this technique again!
On Izzy's actual birthday we had a small celebration at home. Izzy web-cam'd / Facetimed with her grandparents and Kiki then we opened presents. Izzy finally got the Amer.ican Girl doll she's been coveting for over a year.
Thanks to everyone who made Izzy's birthday special. Now...I'm off to take a nap!
