This and That...

Just more catching up on what we've been up to this summer...
I had some work travel in San Francisco - had never been there and it's beautiful. And chilly. We have a new store being built in San Fran so we made a quick stop at the Bay.
We went to the Jimmy Buffett concert and I'm happy to announce that I didn't get lost and haven't gotten lost at his concert since 2005. Boom.
My dear friend, Jess, and her sister joined us. Their dad has had a Jimmy Buffett cover band since they were little and had never seen THE Jimmy Buffett live. They were the perfect dates to this show; knew every word and were dancing queens. Love them!

Cool Creek Concert in the park with neighbors

Our second neighborhood bike bar crawl. Next one is this weekend. Watch out!
Love these girls...Jess & Linny
Evening walk on the Monon with Caroline
Crazy faces with the Bell girls
Lady Antebellum concert with my bestie
My two best friends...in one place...singing to country. Yes please!
Shadow Selfie of my family...
Poolside dance parties are the best!
Saw an amazing band at the Vogue a few weeks back and I'm pretty sure we're going to have to make this a must-see every time they come into town. The Yacht Club Revue. It's a 70's cover band. Look them up. Become obsessed. Buy a captain's hat. You're welcome.

Livin' the Lake Life...

Last month our little family took a week off to spend some time on the lake. We rented Buttercup on Lake Tippy again...
Weather was beautiful
Both girls spent countless hours tubing. Izzy even attempted to get up on skiis!
Sister secrets
Matt, Jill & Sammy joined us for a few nights. We spent a lot of time on the screen porch after the kids were asleep.
Buddies
Boating
Three McCullochs in baseball caps...it's how we roll
All. These. Stairs. Makes for loading and unloading the car a workout!
Turtle Hunting...
...was a success!
Tynan beach with the baby turtles
We then made the trek to Wisconsin for more lake time. But first? We had to make a stop at Woodman's and then a night at Michelle's house.
We also drove waaaaay far north to Minoqua to visit my college pal, Karen.
Krazy Karen Kay & Kelly!!!
Our final destination was Tomahawk to stay with Mike's Uncle John & Brenda
Our girls loved hanging with their "big kid" cousins on the lake, on four wheelers, walking the goats & fishing
Lakes in the North Woods are stunning

More tubing. I went with the girls a few times and they both asked me to stop screaming. Guess they are more brave than their mommy!

We spent 4th of July on the lake watching fireworks and then setting off hundreds of dollars worth of our own fireworks. Girls were enthralled.

Laney caught a fish within seconds of putting her line in the water!

Pretty sure we made tons of new memories that our family won't soon forget. Thank you to the Tynans and the Marcks families for being wonderful hosts to our family!

Summer Sports...

There's been a lot of activity with the McCullochs this summer. Here'a a preview...
Izzy had a week-long swimming camp at the high school. She was so excited about it that she wore her goggles in the tub for a week. Rinsed her hair out whilst blowing bubbles out her nose. Totally normal.
Izzy also advanced to Pre-Team at gymnastics which meant that she started going to practice twice a week. She got strong(er). Fast. She's advanced so much over the last few months that she now has made TEAM!!! Read: she will be competing this year! To say I'm excited is an understatement. So proud of her.
The third sports camp Izzy did was a cheer camp. The older girls (middle schoolers) loved Izzy and each night she'd come home with a new cheer to show us. Her final day I was able to come and watch her perform.
Temporary tatts. Go Shamrocks!
"Everybody do the Westfield Rumble!" My girl...she's a flyer like her mommy!
Our family participated in a walk/run for Lung Cancer to support Jason.
Fort Benjamin Harris
The park was ridiculous

And of course we've been spending lots of hours at the pool
Izzy practicing her cheerleading stunts
Beer bike crawl with my favorites, Clint & Cari
Mikey swam his first open water swim in a few years. Two miles in about 45 minutes. We were so proud of him for many reasons this day. There was quite an unfortunate turn of events about a third of a mile to the finish. Let's just say Daddy Mike was a hero...and I'll leave it at that.
Cheering from the beach
Our little family took a week-long lake vacation so this meant I was able to drop-in at a few boxes. I love meeting new people and exploring new gyms. Tests me both physically and emotionally.

Izzy's attitude face at the end of her hip-hop routine (thanks Natty!)
This little Bug finally learned how to swim sans floaties. Brave little fish she is.
Second competition of the summer, my first partner comp was 'Merica Games

Lora and I made it to the finals and finished 6th place overall. Those were some brutal wods and I'm proud of us!
Handstand push ups in the final...love me some gymnasty!

We hosted our neighborhood's 2nd bike bar crawl. Had twice the amount of folks join us as the last time.
My very favorite neighbor and close friend, Jess
Daddy hitting balls
Girls learning to swing

Laney Fish
I spend my Saturday mornings at CrossFit Clay United and was able to pull my first sled in a wod for 1,200 meters. Puke. But I felt STRONG.
On weeknights we either hit up the pool or the Monon Trail for a walk. Love that this is right in our backyard so we can all be active together. It's been a fun summer of sports and such...leading and teaching our kids by example!
